Laurie Diamond
Founder of Diamond Defense Strategy Group. Contract Chief Growth Officer at FLYJETS + The FLY Report. GTM strategy, marketing, sales and PR for federal IT, defense, aerospace, health and commercial clients.
The work, in order.
Laurie is a business development lead who has won over $250 million in annual contracts — and who positions clients to land the large revenue wins that follow. She has worked with hundreds of marketing, communications, and BD teams across Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon/RTX, Verizon, SES, AWS, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Esri, and Booz Allen, and keeps a senior network that is still in those buildings.
At GovExec / Defense One she served as Associate Publisher and VP of Strategic Operations — tripling Defense One revenue, doubling the sales team, and delivering up to 127% of annual target. She hosted and moderated programs across AI, cyber, quantum, and DoD cloud, sitting with the people who buy and the people who brief them.
Before that, at The Washington Post, she delivered 35% revenue growth as Senior Global Account Director for Defense and Federal IT, with executive partnerships including AWS, Booz Allen, Accenture, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, and Honeywell. Earlier, as Director of Business Development at Alion / HII, she secured over $250 million in annual contracts and led growth inside a $400 million engineering sector across NAVSEA, SPAWAR, DHS, and DOJ.
In 2025 she joined SpaceNews as Vice President of Business Development and delivered more than 35% of the company annual revenue goal in under eight months. In 2026 she took FLYJETS + The FLY Report as a contract growth account — Chief Growth Officer, not a full-time seat — while continuing to run Diamond Defense as the practice.
She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and studied international economics at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A U.S. citizen based in Bethesda, she previously held a Secret clearance. She has been a Certified Wish Granter and alumni board member for Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic since 2008, including work with military families through Operation Dream Maker.
“Laurie’s extensive knowledge of the industry provided invaluable insights, offering our team a strategic advantage. Her deep understanding of the B2G and B2B landscape was instrumental in guiding our business investments. We remained committed to keeping her as our key point of contact — the working relationship was that strong.”
